Welcome Back Spring 2015

Dear EE majors;
If you have not met me yet, I am the new undergraduate Academic Adviser for the EE major, Nicole Young.  My office located on the second floor of Larsen Hall, room 230.  For advisement, there are 2 ways for students to see or contact the EE adviser; 1) during walk-in hours Monday through Friday 10-12 pm and 1-4 pm and email address is undergradadvising@ece.ufl.edu.  Critical dates are listed below for the spring semester.  Walk-in hours may vary this semester. Please check the EE blog for updates.

Upcoming meetings/out of office:
January 6 from 12-2 at EEL2000
February 17 out of the office at 1:00 pm
February 23-27 out of the office  will be back in the office March 2
Second Wednesday of each month out of the office 10-1 for adviser meetings



EEL4905 and EGN4912 forms must be in my office for registration by Friday, January 10 by 4:00 pm. The form is located on the following website, http://www.ece.ufl.edu/content/forms.

EEL4948 and EEL4949 forms with offer letters should be in the office by Friday, January 10 by 4:00 pm.  The EEL4949 forms are completed through CRC and a copy is submitted to me.  For EEL4948 form are on the ECE website http://www.ece.ufl.edu/content/internships-and-co-op-experiences


For students that did not earn C or higher in EEL3923C in the fall semester. You are required to retake the course before moving on to the EEL4924C Design 2. Please drop EEL4924C from your schedule and adjust your spring schedule accordingly.  

For EE majors that are planning to graduate this semester Spring 2015, please send me an email to complete a graduation check at nicolet@ece.ufl.edu.  If we have already completed a graduation check, you are not required to send me an email.  Please complete your degree application by the January 9th.  The degree application is completed through ISIS website.


To receive honor chords you must meet a certain GPA for your upper division GPA. Upper division GPA can is located in the middle of your degree audit. If your upper division GPA is a minimum of 3.30 you are able to graduate with honors (Cum Laude). If your upper division GPA is minimum 3.50 or 3.80 and writing a thesis or completing research project, you are eligible to graduate Magna Cum Laude or Summa Cum Laude respectively.  If you are completing research project and/or thesis please send me an email with the title and the faculty adviser you are working with by January 15th.
  If you planning to complete an thesis, I will send the direction handout to you once I receive an email from you.
