Apply for University Scholars Program for 2018-2019
The University Scholars Program is an excellent opportunity to participate on a two-semester consecutive undergraduate research project.  This is especially valuable for students considering an engineering Ph.D. or Master’s degree at UF or elsewhere.  All students are eligible to apply provided you are not graduating bachelors before May 2019.

February 9, 2018 – Faculty Nomination Deadline
February 26, 2018 – Student Selection Deadline and Notification

Welcome Back!!!! Spring 2018 semester is underway.  Good luck to all students on their classes this semester.  Drop/Add ends this Friday, please have your schedule finalized by Friday.   My advising hours will are listed below for this week.   I will be out of the office from January 16-19, 2018.  I will be checking email sporadically while I am out.

General Reminders and Updates:

Probation Students and Contracts- You have been notified by email that you are probation.  If you have not cleared your hold, please come in Thursday or Friday from 9:30-10:30 or 3:00-4:30 pm.

Students that are planning to graduate in the Spring 2018- Final GRAD CHECK SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE by NOW.  If you have not done so, please read the directions below.  It must be done before Friday at noon.

Please send an email (ntyoung@ufl.edu) with the Subject: Final Grad Check for Spring 2018 Commencement.  In email please include name and UFID. Completing FINAL Grad Check. Some students have come in and have already completed the grad check.  You do not have send and email unless you have changed your schedule since we spoke.

-If you planning to graduate in the Summer but walk in the Spring. Please email me by January 11^th to be included in the memo to the college.  DO NOT APPLY FOR GRADUATION. YOU ARE NOT DONE WITH YOUR DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

-If you planning to graduate Magna or Summa Cum Laude you must complete a thesis to earn that status.  Please read over the handout that is at the bottom of the message.

-To apply for graduation via www.student.ufl.edu –Look on the left side menu and click on Certificate/Degree Application enter gatorlink information then follow the directions.  For more information about commencement; https://commencement.ufl.edu/schedulespring2018

-If you plan to waive your summer requirements by internship/coops, complete the summer waiver form by end of January. Do not wait to the last minute. It takes the Registrar Office some time to complete the request.

- You are required to complete ECE Exit Survey.  It will be sent out and due after Spring Break.

ECE SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2018-2019 WILL BE AVAILABLE ON JANUARY 31, 2018.  The information will be posted on the EE Blog and sent out on the EE Listserv.

ALL EE Paperwork (EGN4912, EEL4905, EEL4948 and EEL4949) are due January 11, 2018 by noon. If you have any questions, please let me know

If you have not passed the pre-requisite course for a course you are registered for the spring semester.   Please adjust your schedule to reflect the proper registration.

If you have not cleared your advising holds for the Spring 2018, please do so soon. Most classes are full or near capacity.
