College of Engineering Peer Mentor Training

On Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 the College of Engineering will host a training session for all student organizations whose members participate in peer mentoring. This is especially important for students who might be providing academic advising information. The meeting will be held in 270 Weil Hall.

All College of Engineering students are welcome. The College requests attendance by at least one member from each student organization that might be involved in providing any level of academic advising.

Objective:  To provide our students with a clear understanding of current college, university and state policies as they pertain to undergraduate students. Our primary focus will be on consistency and accuracy, as well as helping our peer leaders distinguish fact from opinion.

Topics to be covered:
Roles and guidelines for mentoring relationships
University and State policies for undergraduate students
Consistency and accuracy
Distinguishing from opinion to actual facts and policies
