Overview
Work with a cross-functional team on the product definition, architecture and system prototypes of Qualcomms new ARMv8 based Server SOC ASICs. Primary responsibilities include specification, development and hardware shakeout of server platform board prototypes utilizing Qualcomms new SOC.

***Positions are located in Raleigh, NC***

Responsibilities:
- Work with internal teams to develop and support requirements.
- Develop functional specification for System and/or sub-systems.
- Define and design systems including processor, memory, I/O, BMC, power, electrical/mechanical and PCB definition/design.
- Bring up and debug Systems.

Skills Needed:
1-10+ years of experience in the following:
- Motherboard, daughtercard, backplane, and chassis signal and power delivery, decoupling, distribution and thermal management
- Qualifying and selecting power management ICs (PMICs), voltage regulator (VR) components, clock buffers, flash memory, CPLDs, connectors and incorporating into complex system designs
- System design tradeoffs of motherboard, daughtercard, backplane, connectors, cables and components
- Dense high layer count designs, 8-12 layers or higher.
- CPU board design and debugging for ARM or other high performance systems (e.g., x86, PowerPC, SPARC, MIPS)
- High speed (6-10+ Gbps) serial IO design, PCI-E Gen3, SATA 6 Gbps, Ethernet GE and 10GE. Physical design of systems with long (0.35-1.0 meter) PCB or cable topologies
- Understanding of link, transport, transaction and command levels for PCIe, SATA, and/or Ethernet.
- DDR3/DDR4 memory technologies, design, layout, validation
- Clock distribution, power distribution, baseboard management controllers, SMBus, PMBus, PWM/Tach
- Schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro, Mentor Boardstation or Expedition.
- Circuit simulation tools (SPICE), and Signal /Power Integrity concerns and analysis
- Lab equipment and debug tools: high speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, SMBus and Serial port debuggers

Education Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering
