I am Surya Chandan Dhulipala, graduate student at the UF Power Lab. I
was the Power System Lead of Gatorloop - Hyperloop Design and Build Team
from UF for 2016- 17. We made it to the competition in L.A last January
after numerous hours of hard work and dedication.
We are planning to attend the second edition of the competition in January-2018 and we are looking for dedicated individuals (Electrical (or) Computer Engineering Majors)
who would like to work on this innovative project. The tasks range from
programming
the Raspberry Pi's to developing wires harness. Experience with
circuits would be great, but it's not necessary. Many people who worked
for the project got into various positions in reputed organizations.
Could you please send this email to all the undergraduate and graduate listservs in Electrical and Computer Engineering?
You can find the information of the info sessions below:

WHO WE ARE
We are Gatorloop, a
design team at UF whose focus is to develop the technology necessary
for the Hyperloop mass transportation system. If you are unfamiliar with
Hyperloop, it is a new form of mass transportation
that has been proposed by Elon Musk, the founder of revolutionary
companies such as SpaceX and Tesla. In 2015, Elon Musk announced a
competition hosted by SpaceX in which universities from around the world
design and build Hyperloop pod prototypes. After several
rounds of elimination and design reviews, Gatorloop was selected to be
one of 29 teams from an original 1,200 to compete in the final round of
the first competition. After months of designing and manufacturing our
Hyperloop pod, we competed in the final round
and performed extremely well.
WHY YOU CARE
Be
a part of something that will change the world. Our members have
the opportunity to get hands on engineering, design and
manufacturing experience
in a highly creative and challenging environment. These experiences are
highly sought after by companies and hiring managers. Our
members have received internships and full time positions with
companies
such as The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, Siemens, The Walt
Disney Company, General Electric, Cummins, Ball Aerospace, Pratt &
Whitney and many more!
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED
We are currently looking for dedicated undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines!
