Dear ECE Students:
As we make the transition from the old EE curriculum to the one, the prerequisites for some courses are changing. In particular, starting in spring 2016, EEL 3008 Physics of Electrical Engineering will be a prerequisite for EEE3308C, EEE3396C and EEL3472C, plus some other classes. This email is to clarify how these courses will be handled as we transition between old and new versions of these classes.
EEL 3008 will not be enforced as a prerequisite for 3211C, 3308C, 3396C, 3472C or 4260C in fall 2015, but EEL 3008 will be required as a prerequisite for these classes starting spring 2016.
Students who have taken two or more of 3308, 3396 and 3472 should not take 3008.
Students in the old EE curriculum who have taken two of the required classes 3308, 3396 and 3472 should take the third one by fall 2015.
Students in the old EE curriculum who have taken at most one of 3308, 3396 and 3472 will be allowed to take 3008 plus two others to satisfy their requirements in these classes. In effect, such students will be allowed to substitute 3008 for one of those three required classes.
If you have any questions about the changes, please see Nicole
