Student project from Siemens

Hi EE Majors,

Please read the email below.

We have an exciting challenge from Siemens up on MindSumo and they would love to see your students solve it!

MindSumo is a platform that provides real company projects for students to help them develop professional skills and valuable experiences for resumes. We have worked with over 350 companies in the past and have over 300,000 students in our community.

Siemens - How can we better control mass air flow in rotating machinery?

These challenges are great for students who want to apply skills they learnt during their classes to solve projects for actual companies. Great to work on during their weekend, after school, during breaks and even as a class project. Each of these challenges also award the top performers with cash prizes.

Would you please forward my note to students and professors you think might be interested in such projects?

Feel free to reach out to me (isha@mindsumo.com) if you or your students have any questions. Hope to see many of your students participate!

Thank you,

Isha Punjabi | University Relations | MindSumo Inc. | www.mindsumo.com

Hi EE Majors,

I will be out of the office from July 27- August 3,  2018. I will be back in the office on August 6th.   If you have questions about dropping or withdrawing, I will have office hours next Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from  10-12 and 1-3.

The last day to drop or withdrawal is August 3, 2018.   IF you are only registered for one course in Summer B or C then you will withdraw from that specific semester.
Please follow the directions below to drop or withdrawal.  Also, there are directions for college petitions, if you have used all your drops.

If you  have drops please follow the directions below:
If you are planning to drop a course for the Summer 2018 semester, please submit your request through Student Initiated Drop/ Add page (https://student.ufl.edu/dropadd.html) by AUGUST 3, 2018.  When you submit your request to this page, it will show you the number of drops you have remaining.  If you have no drops to use, YOU will be REQUIRED to complete a college petition (https://www.eng.ufl.edu/students/resources/undergraduate-student-handbook/petitions/)

Please read the general information about dropping a course and Bright Futures and Dropped courses. Once you have submitted your request, please submit your verification email to ntyoung@ufl.edu (the information is below).  I will not drop your courses until I receive your verification email.

Please follow it with an email to me that says the following information:
Subject line:  Summer 2018 Drop Verification
Name:
UFID:
Course(s):
Section number(s):
The date that you submitted the request on SIDA:
Have you dropped a course in a prior semester? Yes or No
Do you authorize me to drop your course: Yes or No

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To Withdraw from the entire semester: https://registrar.ufl.edu/services/withdrawals.html
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you have used all your drops:
You will be required to submit a college petition via online to the college.  It requires the petition, student statement and advisor statement for review by the college.    The petition link is on the following website, https://www.eng.ufl.edu/students/resources/undergraduate-student-handbook/petitions/ .  This process takes longer than normally dropping, you want to have this submitted ASAP.  The advisor letter must accompany your request.   Send your petition and statement to me as soon as possible so I have time to write a concise and thoroughly letter.

Have a great weekend!!!
